My local historical society in Buffalo, MN (Wright Co) offers a space to showcase area artists’ work. I stepped WAY out of my comfort zone and showed a very personal project.

In November 2024, I decided to design, make, print, and send postcards to friends and family every month for a year. The theme was HOPE. The hope series focused on symbols of hope such as a light house, a phoenix rising from the ash, and the lotus flower, to name a few.

This year-long practice in 2025 gave me a purpose and a place to channel my own confusion, worry, and anxiety. It was also such a great way to stay connected to my community.

In February 2026, I shared this practice and the original fabric art pieces.
